Service Description
Herbalism is an ancient tradition that uses plants to promote wellness and bring the body into homeostasis. It helps us connect with nature and become more in tune with our personal health. In this three-week course, you will learn how to identify, cultivate and utilize five common herbs, five different herbal preparations, a brief history of herbalism, common terminology and newfound confidence in your herbal journey. Session 1: History, Terminology, Things herbalists can and cannot say, Safety, Choosing quality plants and how to store them, How to dry herbs, Herb spotlight on Dandelion, How to prepare a hot water infusion (and how it differs from tea) Session 2: Herb spotlight on Oat, What is a decoction and how to make one, Herb spotlight on Calendula, How to make an herbal infused topical oil Session 3: Herb spotlight on Lavender, How to make an herbal infused honey, Herb spotlight on Willow Bark, How to make a tincture using the folk method You will be provided with a weekly workbook to help guide you as you learn. You will also be given a link to join our private student group where you will interact with your classmates and instructor. Your Zoom link will be sent to you with your welcome package! Materials Required: A device to access the course, a microphone and an (optional) notebook.
